There's nothing like a good hangover to put things in proper perspective

Got wasted last saturday night (well sunday actually since it was well into dawn when the partying stopped). An officemate had a birthday bash at a bar along Timog called off the grill. Truly the best things in life are free. I don't normally get drunk in bars but the free booze was really temptin and I was goners when they brought out the Tequila. Geez! I only remembered having 4 shots but they say I had more, hmmm...

Maybe that's why I had to argue with the jeepney driver about whether i've paid or not. I was paying for my fare and they insisted that i've paid and was handing my change already. I swear i haven't paid them a cent, what i remember was handing somebody else's money to them but not mine. Oh well, if it was a free ride then thanks if not, at least i still got my change.

Back to the bar, the band was actually good what with just a guitarist and that acoustic box you tap for instruments and 2 vocalists--a guy and girl which sort of reminded if Da if she was into wearing bonnets and hiphop clothes these days. ^_^
I actually enjoyed the music although it's not really what i'm into. Of course, I was trashed so it might not have mattered if they sucked or not. hehe

Its funny how getting drunk makes things lighter and seem unimportant. I never really understood why people drink when they have problems. I drink to have fun with friends. I love watching people slowly "loosen up" while i remain sober. It's different when you're the one who get wasted...very liberating. At least everybody else were drunk and most were more drunk than me ^_^

Post-hangovers are fun, all you have to worry about is that nagging headache everything else takes a back seat, no worries no problems nothing. Your consciousness only extends to the next step you take and telling your queasy stomach to settle down.

Funny thing is the next day we had a family lunch in the same area, my Aunt's big bash before she goes back to the states. I got home past 4 am and was back in Timog around 11am. Sheez! I should've just set up tent somewhere and slept there. Or maybe just slept on the tables of the bar and had the waiters wake me up in time for lunch. Needless to say I didn't enjoy the lunch since i couldn't even go back for seconds much less finish off the food on my plate in the first place.
