The Late New Year Update

The old (sleet)

And the new (chito)

Hmmm…updates. It seems that I only remember to update this blog every 3 months…a quarter of a year when I write a series of 2 or three consecutive blogs and then take a hiatus from circulation just to resurface 2 or 3 months later. I can't believe I let Christmas pass without a squeek.

So what's new…

1-Got a new toy, I don't think that my new laptop has earned mention here yet and to think I've been gaga over it for the last few months. My parents brought it with them when they came home last August. And following Peloy's Fafi, I named mine Toushi, since it’s a Toshiba and a jap name seemed appropriate since our desktop is called Fuchikoma from the comics Ghost in the Shell. It’s a Satellite A105-S4114 which doesn't mean anything to me at all but that's what it is, and its most high-tech feature is the fingerprint reader. I haven't explored its full potential yet, I mostly use it for playing Sims2, budgeting household expenses, writing for my blog, internet, and watching dvds =)

2-Ooops, almost forgot about my not-so-new fones…bought a 2nd hand P910 with my 13th month pay last year. Also bought a 2nd hand Nokia 1100 last month to replace my company phone that was stolen last year. Now I can proudly say that I am free to resign since I already have a phone to turnover.

3-We have a new dog. Chito is Gi's dog originally. She and her brother found it wandering along C5 wounded and brought it home only to find that their apartment doesn't allow dogs. So I ended up taking him home. This is his picture right here. We suspect he is a pitbull and an albino…he's purely white and has blue eyes. My brother calls him Tochi…he doesn't like the name chito it seems; another jap-sounding name and one can see our penchant for jap names. (We have 2 kittens called hachi and roku named after the car in initial D)

4-We have new puppies. And to think that an additional dog like Chito is not enough our around 8 year old dog gave birth this week to 5 puppies. Not 1, not 2, not 3…but 5 puppies! And there's more!

5-We will have a baby soon in the house. I'll have a nephew/niece on the way...as in due on August. We will not discuss that in detail right now, it's too complicated and I'm too sleepy an my hands are tired.

6-I've submitted an application for management training in our office. At the behest of my coach who knows me so well now that she had the perfect apple to dangle in front of me to get me to concede. The coming management training is purely training and without the usual incumbent application for any position afterwards. I spent one sleepless day dwelling on it and I was surprised that it didn't take long for me to decide though it was admittedly a hard decision to make. I guess it was the right time. I've submitted my updated resume and letter of intent and there's going to be an interview just to get in. That was 2 weeks ago and nothings happened yet which is fine by me.

What's old

1-ME. Yesterday is a milestone for me, it marks my third year in a call center. This was supposed to be a temporary sojourn to a different realm but who would've guessed…certainly not me. It was the last thing on my mind to make a career out of this. But since I 'm already here why not give it a chance? Hence, the application for management training.

2-ME. It's the dreaded big three-oh for me this year and frankly, I think I'm having panic attacks. I have a list of things I'd like to do and learn before I die but suddenly I want them all done right now, this year, all before I turn 30...*shivers* that number leaves a foul taste in the mouth and makes my hair stand on end.

3-ME. I'm bored shitless with my job. Gemki is currently downloading Daria episodes and I've had a marathon recently watching odd episodes. I'm using Daria right now as a defence mechanism against my job anxieties. There's nothing like a stoic and unemotional disposition to combat stressful calls. I'm actually having fun doing a Daria on specially annoying calls…it cures being an irate agent and it sure irritates the hell out of my respondents with superiority complexes. I'm off too work in a few hours. Weeeeee….
