September Comes: A Post August post

The past month is the most eventful as of yet.

Good news...our new baby was born August 11. My brother and sister-in-law named him Arthur Lincoln R. Martin III, he's the Arthur III actually and Lincoln is from a character in Prison Break. They were doing marathons of that show right before my nephew was born. I am now officially a proud Aunt and of course the new grandparents are tickled pink with their first grandson. I know they are excited to go home and see him and hope they could go home by next year. Wish I could afford to send them money for fare but everything is tight because of the house.

Speaking of which (or blogging of which, hehehe) , we've moved back to our very own house. The house is done, but there's still some work to be done. Just minor ones inside the house like left off paintwork but the bulk would be the garage. It's the only one that left dilapidated, rickety and leaking. Mom and dad are stretching their budget to also get that done immediately, again I wish I could help but I have stretched my limit.

Things at work are not looking good...on second thought I'll leave that to my next blog. This one is supposed to be a happy one because of the new baby. I'll have his pics posted in a while.

Anyway Lincoln was born August 11 at the Quirino Memorial Hospital, he's a Leo born in the year of the pig. I'll go do some research on that later. That's also one day after of our late grandfather's birthday Lorenzo F. Apostol. I joked that they should also add a Lorenzo to his name and nickname him ALL, lol. Lincoln also has the exact same birthday as my friend Dell, and for those who know him it's not a surprise if I jokingly sent him this text on his birthday: "Happy Birthday! My new nephew has the same birthday as yours...should I be scared?"

Right now the baby's doing great, he's had his first check up by our very own pediatrician. My sister-in-law works at the Philippine Children's Hospital and naturally has lots of choices for the baby's doctor and by chance we discovered that our very own family pediatrician was connected with the hospital so they were able to meet her just to say hi one day. Dra. Talleon was one of first visitors when Lincoln was born. As soon as my mom found out about it she ordered my brother to get her Lincoln's pedia too. And that was that.

The Last Quarter

When September ends the last quarter of the 2007 starts.

I'm awake.

Again things at work at not looking so bright...not even a twinkle. The blessing I asked for has not proved to be the solution to my problem at work. I didn't really think it would be but I was willing to invest some degree of hope to it. The web research we're doing is not as easy as it looks. It all comes down to pure luck, hardwork can no longer assure you of meeting the quota. And for the first time in my long 3 1/2 years stay in the company I've reached the point where I can be termed for consistently not hitting the quota.

So many things happening so fast...the August 19 deadline was extended to September 30 os that's more than 2 months of not doing calls and talking to foreigners. The client's contract with our company is supposed to end August and there's still no news that they have renewed. So far they've been quiet about it and the only indicator that the special project of web research was extended til end of September. We haven't renewed our contracts either, losing the job is a possibility and though they're not saying anything I think for them, the account as well. Our program hasn't been doing good and the shift to web research hasn't been good to many. I've heard that even tenured agents like me and elite agent are in the same boat performance-wise because of the web research shift. My contract ended August.,technically, come monday I can skip work already.

Something that I both wish and dread.
