Almost Christmas

November's here.

Lots of things to get excited about. Christmas is just a month away now as usual this brings an unexplicable sense of excitement and dread all mixed together in a crescendo that culminates in a minor nervous breakdown at the end of the season...but before that there's November...lots of things to look forward to like the 4th installment of the Harry Potter movies which looks promising from what little of the movie trailer I've seen...something to look forward to especially since the hype of the 6th book's release still fresh

Another is the much awaited Rent movie opening at the end of the month, I'm psyching myself up for it as early. Am listening to the my rent mp3s right at this moment. It's gonna be a happy november ^___^

SO enough of that...am off to the cemetery to visit our brother's grave, came by loyola yesterday to visit my grandfather's grave. My grandmother in the province just died...the sister of my dad's father. We might be going to Tarlac this weekend.

The reunion

A reunion of sorts in celebration of two brand new training grads. Almost everyone here, we're missing Isobel. Anyway there's always next time.

Had the weirdest dream last night (one of the rare times that i do get to sleep at night). It involved a math problem that i had to solve. It still remember the formula x=d2/t...that's d squared over t. Had no problem solving the math problem, already had it done on a scratch paper. What prevented me from passing the paper was that I had to redo writing it down...the presentation wasn't good enough and I wasn't satisfied with the skit that I wrote down to introduce the math problem. Weird tlaga! Maski sa panaginip OC ako....

Anyway, in my search for a medusa costume for Holloween at the office I came across this page hehe at dribbleglass.com about politically incorrect holloween costumes. Some of my favorites are:

Cave man. The proper term should be "evolutionally challenged"; "man" is overtly sexist; also insulting to those in loincloths.

Cop. Authority figures should not be ridiculed.

Grim Reaper. Trivializes death; may also encourage children to use scythes without the necessary supervision.

Napoleon. Offends the French. (In much the same way deodorant does.)

Skeleton. Exhibits an insensitivity toward those with eating disorders.

Angel. Mocks religion and the religious.

Dracula. Endorses the irresponsible practice of transmitting bodily fluids.

Sigmund Freud. Insults those with the lifelong opinion that a cigar is just a cigar.

Ghost. Glorifies the occult.

Witch. Religious persecution. Also pertains to warlocks, Gnostics, conjurers, chiromancers, shamans and Druids.

Biblical Figures. Religion is no laughing matter, except for that part about Noah fitting four million species of animals onto one boat.

Devil. Affront to demons and those currently possessed by demons; Satanists are people, too, all right?

Fairy. Offensive to interior designers and choreographers. (Note: The same guideline applies to sprites and pixies.)

Daffy Duck. Unkind to those with speech impediments. (Same goes for Elmer Fudd and Barbara Walters.)

Albert Einstein. Insulting to those who have a problem comprehending the particle nature of light.

Chinaman. Sexist; racist; upsetting to immigrants and honor students.

Robin Hood/Merry Men. Suggests an intolerance for those with alternative lifestyles

Just check out the web page for the others...might have missed some good ones ^____^

Back to the addiction...

Finally had a chance to edit in-game screenshots...they're in the hands of flickr now.

I don't think that i'm going to that much of an addict playing this time round...mostly it's a problem of fitting things in a schedule like waking up (baka matulugan ko lang mga kalaro ko).

Am supposed to be in a team-building/outing with teammates sa work. The problem is I don't think I can refund the P800 I paid for contributions.

september ends

On to another month...the first week of October is nearly over. Sigh it's friday and I still have one work day looming ahead of me. Supposed to be sleeping but here I am blogging. (I think I'm anticipating the still as of yet unplanned weekend gimmick). This week seems to drag on forever, my guess is it's the effect of coming from vacation. I wish I was back in Baguio.

back from the mountains

And back from outer space

Everytime I go to Baguio, I feel like the city is calling me and I want to stay there forever. and I'm reminded that the first time I went there a few years ago...I wanted to uproot my big manila butt and settle there. I like Baguio because it's quiet like you're living in the province but with all the city-comforts of manila like malls and complete fast food joints to suit your craving for pizzas, burgers and whatnot. Of course, there're the meningo scare and landslides but the city has survived all that afterall and it's still going strong.

"What are you going to do there?", I ask myself.

"Oh, loads of stuff like going to Banaue & Sagada and checking out the artist scene and the academe, there's UP Baguio afterall", I answer myself.

"No, I mean what job are you going to do apply for...you know, a paid job so you have money to live there?," asked myself again.

"Ah...oh. I hear there's call center in Baguio or at least they're already setting it up..." Sigh.

Anyway, I had a good time. Tiring with all the walking but enjoyable nontheless. Only in Baguio can I tour the whole donwtown on foot without any complaints other than shortness of breath from exertion. Anyway it was Gi's birthday and we had a blast eventhough we missed the night scene and the drinking. Am also a bit broke now so time to go back to work...hopefully with a fresh zest to face an exteremely boring job so I can even make more money for another vacation.

Sorry, no pasalubong. There were thousands of trinkets but most are just the same old boring stuff that you can buy in any other tourist destination. By the time I got to start hunting down special trinkets to give away, I was so tired that everything looked the same. Gomen!

I do have and extra bottle of good shepherd ube jam at home which I am loathe to give away but am sure am not going to finish off by myself. So if you're hankering for some ube jam, just go to my house and we'll have an ube jam fest. Friends are most welcome to share ^____^

Well there's also a jar of good shepherd made chocolate crinkles. They're sooooooo eeeevil! I think I can finish of the whole jar in one sitting. The cookies are bite-sized and they're so yummy that you eat one after the other and you won't notice that you've already eaten halfway through the jar. I don't think it's going to last another day though. And...They've taken out the not for resale sign on good shepherd products so you can see shops selling them everywhere. They just put up a disclaimer that they have no control over the quality of the products sold outside the training center. Wala lang, it's just a good business opportunity.

In a few hours, I'll be going back to work. Sigh.

Goodbye September...
