back from the mountains

And back from outer space

Everytime I go to Baguio, I feel like the city is calling me and I want to stay there forever. and I'm reminded that the first time I went there a few years ago...I wanted to uproot my big manila butt and settle there. I like Baguio because it's quiet like you're living in the province but with all the city-comforts of manila like malls and complete fast food joints to suit your craving for pizzas, burgers and whatnot. Of course, there're the meningo scare and landslides but the city has survived all that afterall and it's still going strong.

"What are you going to do there?", I ask myself.

"Oh, loads of stuff like going to Banaue & Sagada and checking out the artist scene and the academe, there's UP Baguio afterall", I answer myself.

"No, I mean what job are you going to do apply for...you know, a paid job so you have money to live there?," asked myself again.

"Ah...oh. I hear there's call center in Baguio or at least they're already setting it up..." Sigh.

Anyway, I had a good time. Tiring with all the walking but enjoyable nontheless. Only in Baguio can I tour the whole donwtown on foot without any complaints other than shortness of breath from exertion. Anyway it was Gi's birthday and we had a blast eventhough we missed the night scene and the drinking. Am also a bit broke now so time to go back to work...hopefully with a fresh zest to face an exteremely boring job so I can even make more money for another vacation.

Sorry, no pasalubong. There were thousands of trinkets but most are just the same old boring stuff that you can buy in any other tourist destination. By the time I got to start hunting down special trinkets to give away, I was so tired that everything looked the same. Gomen!

I do have and extra bottle of good shepherd ube jam at home which I am loathe to give away but am sure am not going to finish off by myself. So if you're hankering for some ube jam, just go to my house and we'll have an ube jam fest. Friends are most welcome to share ^____^

Well there's also a jar of good shepherd made chocolate crinkles. They're sooooooo eeeevil! I think I can finish of the whole jar in one sitting. The cookies are bite-sized and they're so yummy that you eat one after the other and you won't notice that you've already eaten halfway through the jar. I don't think it's going to last another day though. And...They've taken out the not for resale sign on good shepherd products so you can see shops selling them everywhere. They just put up a disclaimer that they have no control over the quality of the products sold outside the training center. Wala lang, it's just a good business opportunity.

In a few hours, I'll be going back to work. Sigh.

Goodbye September...
